In this book von Neman describes the theory that underlies all of mathematics. As you can imagine, this was very exciting to me. At the age of 14, I read this amazing book. My first thought was, “Wow, that’s amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it before!” I also thought, if I could do this, then I would be a better mathematician than I am now. After reading this incredible book I started to think about what I wanted to become when I grew up. What I really wanted was to study math. That’s when my interest in math really took off.I started my first math class at age 14. By the end of my freshman year, my math teacher had already taught me the basic concepts of algebra and geometry. She also taught us about the concept of probability. When I got to high school, math was my favorite subject. There were so many things I loved about math, like the fact that it was so easy to solve problems. You could solve a problem in a matter of seconds. If you were really good, you could even solve it in under an hour. Then there was geometry, where you had the ability to see the world around you.
