University’s Center for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, which is part of the School of Public Health, has been studying the effects of marijuana legalization on the health of young people.

The study, published in the journal Pediatrics, found that marijuana use among young adults was associated with a lower risk of developing a variety of chronic diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. The study also found a link between marijuana and a higher risk for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, suicide, depression and suicide attempts.
