D+K2 – Putting Calcium In Balance
Creasing your calcium intake.
Did You Know That Alongside Calcium You Should Also Look Into Vitamins D And K2?
Abstract
Vitamin D promotes the production of vitamin K-dependent proteins, which require vitamin K for carboxylation in order to function properly. The purpose of this review is to summarize available evidence of the synergistic interplay between vitamins D and K on bone and cardiovascular health. Animal and human studies suggest that optimal concentrations of both vitamin D and vitamin K are beneficial for bone and cardiovascular health as supported by genetic, molecular, cellular, and human studies.
These limited studies indicate that joint supplementation might be beneficial for cardiovascular health. As more is discovered about the powerful combination of vitamins D and K, it gives a renewed reason to eat a healthy diet including a variety of foods such as vegetables and fermented dairy for bone and cardiovascular health.
Associated Data
This paper dived into the immunoregulatory effects of supplementing Vitamin D 3 by elaborating a causal loop diagram.
Together with D 3 , vitamin K 2 and magnesium should be supplemented to prevent long-term health risks. Follow up clinical randomized trials are required to verify the current circumstantial evidence. Keywords: Vitamin D, COVID-19, Coronavirus, Mortality rate, Immunology
Methodology One of the basic principles that is used to combine valuable scientific findings and knowledge from often interdisciplinary domains is called systems analysis.
Based on these findings, the CLDs have been created and digitized using the Vensim software (Ventana Systems, 2015). Even though ethical issues might arise (Muthuswamy, 2013), the paper’s hypothesis requires clinical randomized trials to verify the circumstantial evidence. This publication illustrated the metabolic mechanisms behind that observed phenomenon.
It is highly suggested to also consider K 2 and magnesium intake to avoid unintended long-term side-effects such as arteriosclerosis and osteoporosis. Conflict of interests The author declares that they have no competing interests in this section. Ethics approval and consent to participate Not applicable.
What Are Vitamins D And K?
It’s necessary for blood clotting and promotes the accumulation of calcium in your bones and teeth. Summary: Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble nutrients that play an essential role in your body’s calcium metabolism.
