Fruits And Vegetables
Increasing your fruit and vegetable consumption is a good way to fit more water-soluble vitamins into your diet. Citrus fruits, dark green vegetables, berries, melon, tomatoes and potatoes are all good sources of vitamin C. Peas, potatoes and legumes provide thiamine and pantothenic acid, dark green vegetables provide riboflavin and all of these vegetables provide vitamin B-6.
Folate is found in dark green leafy vegetables, mushrooms, legumes and citrus fruits, and biotin is found in most fresh vegetables.
Protein Foods
While animal products are not particularly good sources of vitamin C, they do provide many of the B vitamins. Animal products, including fish, poultry, meat, eggs and dairy products, are the only natural sources of vitamin B-12, although some vegetarian foods are fortified with this vitamin.
Meat also contains the other B vitamins; fish contains folate and niacin; milk contains riboflavin and biotin; and eggs contain riboflavin, biotin and pantothenic acid.
