You should be able to get all the vitamin B6 you need during pregnancy from a varied diet and from your prenatal vitamins – most contain at least 100 percent of the recommended amount. Some high-potency multivitamins contain vitamin B6 in large amounts. And some fortified foods, like energy drinks and bars, can have several times the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin B6.

This was a prospective comparative observational study. The study group included women who were exposed to >50 mg/day of vitamin B6 during the first trimester; the control group included pregnant women with a non-teratogen exposure. A total of 192 pregnancies were followed-up.
Within the limits of our sample size, higher than standard doses of vitamin B6 do not appear to be associated with an increased risk for major malformation.
